Deira evokes a hotel overlooking the sea in Al-Rimal, Gaza City, designed and operated by Rashid Abdelhamid, Saint Levant’s entrepreneur-architect father. The Al-Deira Hotel was one of the most beautiful structures in the city and the place where Saint Levant called home as a child. It was destroyed in November of 2023 by the occupation.
Most of all, Deira evokes home; imagining a liberated Palestine, a call to return.
